It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog or anything like that. Serious or otherwise, but that’s because I didn’t have anything to write about before. However, I am back and have some stuff that I’d like to write about. Anyway, here we go…
Recently, I watched a few movies. Siren X, Suicide Circle and Moon Child. That was the order that I watched them in, I watched Siren X and Suicide Circle one night and a day or so later watched Moon Child. Suicide Circle and Moon Child, good movies, kept me entertained. Both had their flaws and things and each had their strength. That happens in movies. Siren X, however, was all flaw. Going in I knew it probably wasn’t going to be the best movie (since it’s kind of a porn) but it was just full of “teh suck” and not the good kind. Seriously. Siren X is the worst Horror Porn I’ve ever seen. It may be the only one I’ve ever seen, but it turned me off (quite literally) from the idea of Horror Porn. And the idea sounds so promising.
Siren X started with somewhat of a horror movie feel. The characters were in a vehicle driving to an unknown location, it was the chosen place for their filming. One thing leads to another, blah, blah, blah… a mysterious woman is introduced. Things continue on as normal with the original group staying in the woman’s house out in the middle of the woods. (This reminds me how stupid people in horror movies are, I mean, really.) After a while, things between one of the main guys and the main girl (not the mystery woman) get hot and heavy, so on and so forth. The movie never really gets interesting. It never gave me chills. If anything, I chuckled at the movie once when the first guy dies. Horrible movie. If you stumble across it, don’t bother.
Suicide Circle starts out quickly. Within the first five minutes or so, 54 girls jump out in front of a train. It is an intense beginning and then slow right down but it builds back up again and leads to more suicide action. When I first heard about this movie, I did some searching and found out that it was a mindless gore fest, that’s what got me interested. While watching the movie I came to believe something entirely different. Yes, it is a bloody gore fest from beginning to end (kind of), it really isn’t mindless. At least to me it wasn’t. Typically, “mindless” movies don’t make you think… this movie got me thinking but maybe that’s because I over analyze things. I won’t go into any more detail about the movie, but I do suggest that people watch it. Even if you’re just wanting some over the top gore. But, if you want something more… watch this movie and pay attention. (If there’s nothing there in your opinion, meh, I saw more than just your average bloody gore fest.)
Moon Child is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. Honestly, it may not be your typical “vampire flick” but it is amazing – Kei (HYDE) & Sho (Gackt) <3. The story drew me in, made me want to continue watching, made me want to know what was going to happen next. It got to the point that when Sho cried, I cried. Like when Toshi died. Then again when Sho found out his other brother (or whatever) had been killed. Cried again. I thought I was done crying then BAM! Yi Che ended up in the hospital with a tumor and I was in tears once more. Sad shiz. But things started to look up again as Sho and Kei were reunited, going after the head of the local mob. That didn’t last long, however. Sho found Lee Hom’s character, who’s name escapes me, and an epic gun battle ensues. This leads to Lee Hom shooting Gackt. Kei shows up a few seconds too late, sees Sho lying on the ground and unleashes hell (somewhat). Beautiful revenge. This part lead me to more tears though, as Kei made his way over to Sho. Cradling him on his lap and begging him not to die. I should probably stop before I ruin the movie for anybody that reads this and wants to watch it. Anywho… I recommend this to anybody and everybody.
